Wiltshire Armed Forces Day, Trowbridge Park – Saturday 24th June 2017

Nick, Len, Jean and Dawn attended the show on the Saturday. We took along the gazebo and the banner. When we arrived we were directed by Rob to set up.

The entry to this event was free to the public, it is organised to show appreciation of Armed Forces past, present and future and it was very well attended.

Our minis drew lots of attention, lots of people came to chat and take away postcards.

There were many stalls to browse and a beer tent. There were also military vehicles from different eras and classic cars to view and a number of marching bands throughout the day.

A re-enactment was performed in the afternoon followed by a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Spitfire flypast.

Richard Bolwell was treated to starting up the static spitfire by Seb and Rueben as a Father's Day present.

We will be attending both days of this event next year. A most interesting day for people of all ages.

National Mini Cooper Day, Beaulieu – Sunday 11th June 2017

It was Beaulieu time once more.

I met up in Salisbury with Nick, Dawn and our newest member Jean, she has a nice red and white cooper.

A great trouble free run (do deer), the trouble started when we arrived at the show, at the entrance Nick was told that he was not driving a mini but a Riley and therefore not allowed entry, she was soon put right and in we went.

Coffee and a bacon butty and we were good to go, a good show as always.

Nick thoroughly enjoyed walking around the cars in the concourse.

We all stopped for a pint on the way home, a nice run across the plane.

Hopefully a few more members can attend next year.
