On Sunday 24th March the historic Brooklands Museum hosted its latest annual Mini Day. This event is typically the one that fires the starting pistol on a whole new season of Mini shows and is always well-attended by Mini fans showing off a wide variety of cars from every era of production. However, this year saw snow, sleet, freezing rain and plummeting temperatures across the southern England. Those many hardy souls that did make it to Brooklands were at a loss to remember attending a show in such inhospitable conditions.
It wasn’t all bad however! Hot tea and food, along with the multiple layers of clothing kept us reasonably warm during the day and the huge variety of Minis on display kept people smiling and snapping away until faces and fingers could stand no more.
The staff at Brooklands made extra efforts to ensure all their visitors were as warm and well-fed as possible. At the end of the day, as we all headed off, everyone was agreed it was an event we’ll all remember for a long time!
